Volant air intake systems utilize a high-velocity venturi filter adapter which provides a smooth transition through the MAF sensor into the intake tube for a much needed airflow improvement over the factory rubber tubing and resonator box.

Will installing a Volant intake void my manufacturer's warranty?
According to the Magnuson-Moss Warranty act, Act, 15 USC, 2302, no manufacturer may void a vehicle warranty as a result of using aftermarket products. Only the warranty on the specific part or consequential parts can be affected by the installation of aftermarket components

It is recommended to clean the filter on your Volant Intake at least two times a year.
PowerCore® Filters
Cleaning your PowerCore®: One of the benefits of using a dry PowerCore® filter is that you don't have to clean it. Depending on driving and environmental conditions; the filter will eventually become weighed down with dirt after ~100,000 miles or 4 years.
Extend the Filter Life: Remove it from the vehicle and tap gentle on a hard surface or lightly vacuum the filter surface.
DO NOT WASH! Washing your PowerCore® filter will cause it to become soggy and collapse and requires immediate replacement.
DO NOT OIL! Oiling your Dry filter will ruin it and requires immediate replacement.
DryTech Dry Filters
QUICK CLEANING:
- Vacuum free debris from the surface of the filter.
- Remove the filter from your air intake and tap it on a hard surface to remove any loose dirt.
DryTech 3D Filters reduce maintenance time by resisting saturation that occurs during washing, dropping drying time to as little as 2 hours. For an even faster clean, vacuum off surface particulate to restore filter performance.
DO NOT OIL! Oiling your Dry filter will ruin its effectiveness and require immediate replacement.
Oiled Air Filters
A two-stage filter recharger kit with cleaner and oil is required.
- Remove the oiled filter from your air intake and tap it on a hard surface to remove any loose dirt.
- Liberally spray the filter with filter cleaner and allow it to soak in for about 10 minutes. Avoid petroleum based products because they will soften and destroy sealing edges.
- Rinse off the dirt from the inside of the filter out. Never use high pressure nozzles or air; they could tear and distort the cotton gauze media.
- Allow the filter to air dry in a clean area. Never use applied heat or an air vent to dry the filter. Do NOT reinstall a wet or damp filter. The oiled filter must be completely dry before it is installed.
- Using air filter oil, apply a thin coating to each pleat. The oil will soak into the pleat and after 20 minutes you will see areas that need to be touched up with more oil.
Do Volant intake filters come pre-oiled?
All Cotton gauze filters come pre-oiled. After cleaning the filter, you will need to re-oil it
How often does the filter need to be cleaned?
Cotton gauze filters should be cleaned approximately twice a year or every 10,000 miles.

Volant Performance oil catch cans require regular maintenance and disposal of contaminants, failure to do so could result in leakage. For best results check oil catch cans every 500 to 1K miles and dispose of contents when needed. Volant Performance catch cans are not currently CARB approved. Please check with your local state and city and municipality regulations.

CARB Emissions Information

TMG Performance Products, the makers of Volant Performance, are committed to abiding by all laws and regulations.
We support the efforts of the ARB and have committed to continuing to work with them to ensure our products meet the requirements necessary to obtain the Executive Orders required to provide compliant products to passionate automotive enthusiasts in all locations.
In order to be sold or shipped into the state of California, and other states, Air Intakes, Throttle Bodies, and some other performance products are required to have an Executive Order, stating that the Air Resources Board has found that the installation of certain products does not reduce the effectiveness of the pollution control systems on a vehicle. This does not apply to certain products that are determined to not materially impact the emissions of a vehicle. For example, Cat-Back Exhaust Systems, Air Snorkels, Pre-Filters are not required to submit for an exemption from this ruling.
An exemption from Vehicle Code Section 27156 (VC 27156), California's anti-tampering law, is required before any add-on or modified part can be sold in California. Wherever possible, Volant Performance has worked with the California Air Resources Board to test and gain the Executive Orders allowing for the marketing and sale of products into the state of California, and other states that have adopted those measures.
The Executive Orders apply to the specific Year/Make/Model/Engine and Part Number Combination. Please note that some vehicles do NOT have an Executive Order and are not available to be marketed, sold or shipped to California. For example, no Toyota Vehicles have an Executive Order for Volant Air Intakes. We apologize for any inconvenience.
On most of our product pages you will see an "Emissions" tab. In this section, you should be provided a review of the current status of exemption for your vehicle and part number combination. It is important to note that not all filter types are exempted from each vehicle.

Will installation of a Volant intake cause a Check Engine Light (CEL)?
Volant intakes are tested to ensure they perform within the vehicle's stock parameters and should not cause a check engine light. If a problem occurs calls Tech Service at 440-891-0999
Can I damage my engine by sucking in water with an intake?
Volant intake systems are optimized to maximize airflow and minimize water intake. Water inhalation is not possible unless the entire air inlet is submerged (normally requiring 18 inches or more of water).
How will a Volant Intake affect my vehicle's fuel economy?
Volant intakes make it easier for the engine to breathe, which should result in improved mileage. Driving style has a far greater impact on gas mileage than an air intake
